Principal Software Architect

Work Timings: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST Experience: Minimum 12+ Years in Software Development, including 4+ Years in an Architecture Role Hiring Status: Immediate – Interviews are ongoing. Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Architect who can design and lead the development of reusable software components for licensing, activation, entitlement management and software monetization.

The candidate should have strong experience in software architecture, C/C++ development, cross-platform technologies, microservices, cloud, containers and software security. The person will be responsible for designing scalable software components that can work across different operating systems, programming languages and environments, including cloud, on-premises and embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Software Architecture & Design Define the overall software architecture, technical roadmap and design standards. Design reusable software components and SDKs for licensing, activation, usage tracking and feature management. Break existing large software systems into smaller, independent and reusable components. Ensure software components work across Windows, Linux and embedded environments. Enable integration with different programming languages such as C/C++, C#/.NET, Java, Python and Go. Define APIs, SDK standards, software versioning and backward compatibility.
2. Platform & Technology Development Design microservices-based applications and containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes. Build solutions that can run in cloud, on-premises, edge and offline environments. Design integrations with software licensing platforms such as Revenera FlexNet, Thales Sentinel or similar tools. Support different licensing models, including subscription-based, usage-based, device-based and floating licenses. Ensure secure software delivery through encryption, code signing, secure storage and authentication mechanisms.
3. Technical Leadership Guide and mentor software developers and technical leads. Prepare architecture documents, technical guidelines and implementation standards. Work closely with Product, Security, DevOps, Firmware and Business teams. Provide technical guidance and ensure the architecture meets business and security requirements. Required Technical Skills (Must-Have) Overall Experience: 12+ years in software development, including at least 4 years in a Software Architect / Principal Architect role. Programming: Strong hands-on experience with C/C++. Knowledge of C#, .NET, Java, Python or Go is beneficial. Cross-Platform Development: Experience developing software for Windows, Linux and preferably embedded/RTOS environments. SDK & Integration: Experience designing reusable SDKs, software libraries and components. Knowledge of JNI, P/Invoke, FFI or C ABI is important. Software Architecture: Strong experience in Microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), modular architecture and breaking monolithic applications into smaller components. API & Messaging: Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, OpenAPI, Kafka or MQTT. Containerization: Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD pipelines. Cloud: Working experience with AWS and/or Azure. Security: Knowledge of encryption, cryptography, PKI, code signing, secure storage and software security practices. Build & Deployment: Experience with CMake, NuGet, Maven, Conan or similar build and packaging tools. Monitoring: Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana. Leadership: Ability to lead architecture decisions, mentor technical teams and communicate with business stakeholders. Good to Have (Preferred Skills) Experience with software licensing platforms such as: Revenera FlexNet Thales Sentinel Wibu-Systems CodeMeter Knowledge of software licensing, activation, subscription and entitlement management. Experience in Embedded Systems, IoT or Industrial Software. Knowledge of TPM, hardware-based security and secure boot mechanisms. Familiarity with IEC 62443 industrial cybersecurity standards. Knowledge of SBOM and software supply-chain security. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a strong Software Architect with a background in C/C++, cross-platform software development, SDK architecture, microservices and security. Experience with software licensing platforms such as FlexNet or Thales Sentinel will be an added advantage. Candidates with strong C/C++ architecture, cross-platform SDK development and embedded software experience will be preferred.
