Figure Skating Instructor- Summer Camp

• HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.00Hourly, The Figure Skating Summer Camp Instructor provides engaging, age‑appropriate instruction and supervision in a fun and supportive camp environment. Instructors lead both on‑ice and off‑ice activities while helping skaters develop fundamental skills, confidence, and a love for figure skating.

Essential Duties

& Requirements: Lead on‑ice instruction focusing on skating fundamentals, edges, stroking, turns, basic jumps, spins, and performance skills appropriate to skater ability. Supervise and participate in off‑ice activities, including warm‑ups, stretching, conditioning, games, and team‑building activities. Assist with a weekly field trip to the local park district pool, ensuring skater safety, engagement, and positive behavior.

Adapt instruction to various ages, skill levels, and learning styles. Encourage confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior on and off the ice. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing equipment requirements and following rink, camp, and Safe. Sport guidelines. Support daily camp operations including setup, group transitions, and schedule flow.

Interact professionally with campers, parents, and fellow staff as a positive representative of the program. Professional Expectations: Arrive on time, prepared, and appropriately dressed for on‑ice and off‑ice activities. Model enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Maintain required background checks, Safe.

Sport training, and skating/coaching credentials as applicable. Hours/Schedule: Weekdays 8:30a-3:30pm Schedule may vary based on enrollment Pay Rate: $15-$18 per hour The Hoffman Estates Park District is a proactive equal-opportunity employer.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Strong figure skating skills with the ability to demonstrate fundamentals clearly. Prior coaching or instructional experience preferred, especially with youth athletes. Ability to lead a group with confidence, positivity, and patience. Must enjoy working with children and creating an encouraging learning environment.

Must be 16 years or older CPR/AED certified preferred
