Job description

Summary This role is dedicated to bolstering the Trade & Investment division of SLCCIA by ensuring the integrity of documentation, data accuracy, and revenue assurance for Certificate of Origin and associated trade services. The position focuses on the precise maintenance of registers, execution of reconciliations, and active monitoring to uphold operational standards and financial compliance.

Responsibilities

Assist the Trade & Investment Committee and Secretariat in developing workplans, preparing for meetings, tracking actions, and ensuring follow-through on approved trade and investment initiatives. Document and map the end-to-end workflow for Certificate of Origin applications, including approval, issuance, payment processing, and filing, while maintaining comprehensive process documentation.

Manage a precise Certificate of Origin register that records specific details such as certificate information, exporter identity, product type, destination, applicable fees, payment status, and supporting reference numbers. Generate monthly reports on Certificate of Origin volumes, fees, and other pertinent service metrics for submission to Finance, senior management, and the Committee.

Facilitate the reconciliation of register data against financial receipts, bank records, and other authorized sources, while maintaining a log of any discrepancies. Detect missing records, unexplained variances, or procedural gaps and escalate these issues for authorized review rather than conducting independent investigations.

Organize and collect data on approved trade and investment opportunities, member inquiries, and referrals, while providing support for related events, delegations, and information sessions. Draft concise monthly monitoring summaries and contribute to the implementation of agreed-upon improvements regarding processes, filing systems, and internal controls.

Requirements

Proven ability to support committee operations, including work planning, meeting preparation, and action tracking. Experience in documenting complex business processes and maintaining detailed procedural notes. Strong proficiency in maintaining accurate financial and operational registers with attention to detail. Capability to compile and present data reports for management and financial review.

Skill in performing reconciliations between operational records and financial data, including the management of exception logs. Ability to identify discrepancies and follow established protocols for escalation and review. Competence in organizing information related to trade opportunities and member services. Experience in preparing monitoring updates and supporting process improvement initiatives.
