Meal Officer

Summary This role is dedicated to establishing and sustaining a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework across all current and upcoming initiatives. The position serves as a critical pillar for organizational success by transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive program effectiveness and strategic improvement.

By ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making, the incumbent will play a vital part in enhancing project outcomes and demonstrating impact to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive MEAL system applicable to all active and prospective projects. Gather, process, and interpret data to rigorously assess the success and impact of programs. Uphold data integrity and precision through systematic reviews, validation checks, and quality assurance protocols. Generate detailed reports, interactive dashboards, and visual summaries to effectively communicate key findings.

Partner with cross-functional teams to formulate data-informed strategies that optimize program performance. Administer and maintain secure databases to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of project information. Deliver targeted training and ongoing technical support to staff regarding MEAL principles and operational tools.

Execute regular site visits to verify the accuracy of data collection processes and provide direct assistance to field teams. Curate and update a dynamic database tracking beneficiaries, specific activities, and performance indicators. Work alongside project managers to construct logical frameworks, define measurable indicators, and design effective data collection instruments.

Direct the end-to-end data collection lifecycle, utilizing diverse methodologies such as surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. Guarantee adherence to ethical standards and privacy regulations, including the secure management of informed consent. Utilize advanced statistical techniques to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies within datasets.

Synthesize complex analytical results into clear, accessible reports and presentations tailored for various stakeholder groups. Contribute to the drafting of grant applications, impact assessments, and comprehensive evaluation documentation. Remain abreast of emerging industry trends and best practices in monitoring and evaluation, adapting methodologies to stay current.

Facilitate continuous professional development and capacity-building sessions for staff and partners to strengthen MEAL capabilities.
