Senior Air Freight Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee our overall Air Freight Operations function. In this critical role, you will drive operational excellence, elevate customer satisfaction, and accelerate revenue growth and profitability while developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Direct all daily air freight import and export operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery. You will monitor KPIs, drive continuous improvement, and ensure strict compliance with customs regulations, security certification programs, and ISO requirements. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and coach the air operations team.

You will set clear performance expectations, identify manpower and training needs, support succession planning, and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork. Commercial Partnerships: Maintain strong relationships with key customers, airlines, global partner stations, and agents. You will act as the primary escalation point for major issues and collaborate closely with the Sales team to support customer retention and business development.

Financial Management: Champion revenue and profitability targets while actively monitoring operational costs to identify areas for improvement. You will ensure the highly effective utilization of manpower and resources. Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate seamlessly with internal departments—including Finance, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Transport—and ensure the timely submission of accurate shipment records and management reports.

Requirements

What You Bring Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation, including proven managerial experience. A Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Deep, practical knowledge of air freight import and export procedures, documentation, and relevant freight forwarding systems.

Strong commercial awareness with a solid understanding of revenue, profitability, and cost control. Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Good command of English and Malay; fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage
