Sales Director – Spinal Implants and Biologics
Job description
We are looking for a Sales Director – Spinal Implants and Biologics Location : Northeast US / Field-Based (with up to 50% travel) Maine to Washington DC/Northern VA Reports to : Area Vice President of Sales Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Director with deep expertise in the spinal implant and orthobiologics market.
In this leadership role, you will spearhead our regional sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and expand our market share by building and managing high-performing independent distributors. You will partner closely with spine surgeons, hospital executives, and value analysis committees (VACs) to position our innovative motion preservation and fusion technologies as the gold standard in clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to achieve or exceed annual revenue, margin, and market penetration targets. Team Development & Mentorship: Recruit, train, and retain elite independent distributors, fostering a culture of accountability, ethics, and high performance. Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with leading spine surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders, and healthcare executives to drive product adoption and clinical advocacy.
Pipeline & Territory Management: Analyze regional sales data, forecast trends, and allocate resources effectively to capitalize on emerging market opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Education, and R&D to ensure seamless product launches, surgeon training programs, and clinical support in the OR.
Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all sales, marketing, and promotional activities strictly adhere to Adva. Med guidelines, FDA regulations, and corporate compliance policies.
Qualifications
& Requirements Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of medical device sales experience, with at least 5 years specifically focused on spinal implants (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and biologic solutions) in a sales management or leadership capacity. Track Record: Demonstrated, verifiable history of consistently exceeding quota and building high-growth sales teams within the orthopedic/spine sector.
Surgeon Networks: Established, active relationships with spine surgeons and hospital decision-makers within the assigned territory or nationally.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced clinical background is a strong plus. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel extensively (up to 50%) for key accounts, surgeries, national congresses, and team meetings.
