Job Summary

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will process weekly payroll and manage the administrative requirements for all group health and voluntary benefits. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Payroll Administration Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the HRIS/payroll system; information may include sensitive employee data, hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, department codes, pay allocations, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

Ensures accurate processing of weekly, multi-state, payroll for 500+ employees including deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions. Working knowledge of and ability to apply wage and hour laws, payroll, tax and employment laws where necessary. Runs periodic payroll reports for purposes of weekly pay processing, data reconciliation, internal and external audits.

Completes onboardings and terminations in HRIS/Payroll system Manages garnishments, support orders, liens and other required withholdings. Periodically audits HRIS/Payroll data fields and ensures all employee employment profile fields are accurate and current. The position includes all other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assigned.

Benefits

Administration Work with insurance broker to monitor data feeds between HRIS/Payroll and insurance carriers. Confirm onboarding and terminations are being handled properly in the system. Manage enrollments and coverage changes for employees and their dependents Manage coverage terminations and COBRA compliance Complies with all Aspects of ACA.

Manages annual compliance requirements and filings through ADP. Review monthly insurance invoices and reconcile with payroll deductions, new hires, terminations and other adjustments. Coordinate with accounting on timely payment of invoices. Participate in meetings regarding benefit renewals and changes. Coordinate Open Enrollment and act as main point of contact for all employee benefit questions Manage the Employee Assistance Program benefit offerings and communicate with employees regarding available resources through this program Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: Prioritize discretion and integrity in all job duties to gain and maintain employee’s trust and protect sensitive data across all platforms and communications Exhibit patience and allocate the proper time to each task to uphold accuracy and compliance Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with ADP Workforce Now, Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn new HRIS, benefits or payroll software.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience completing full-cycle payroll for 500 plus employees. Physical requirements of the job Frequent use of computer, keyboard, mouse and phone during the workday. No heavy lifting is required. Work Environment Working indoors in an office environment Travel Occasional car or air travel may be required to attend local or long-distance meetings, trainings or when visiting other communities.

Work Schedule Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with an unpaid lunch break each day, equaling 35 working hours per week. In-person attendance is an essential function of this position.
