Quality Assurance Specialist

ProTrans International, Inc. ® Job Description Job Title: Quality Specialist Department: Quality Reports To: Senior Manager of Quality Assurance SUMMARY The Quality Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and execution of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple logistics operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards while supporting audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities within transportation, warehousing, and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities
Quality System Support & Compliance Support the day-to-day execution of the Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Assist locations with understanding and applying quality requirements across transportation, warehousing, and supply chain activities.
Maintain quality records, logs, and controlled documentation. Audits & Assessments Support internal audits by preparing documentation, participating in audits, and tracking follow-up actions. Assist with external audits (customer, regulatory, or certification audits) as needed. Verify completion of corrective actions and support effectiveness checks.
Nonconformance & Corrective Action Management Track nonconformances, incidents, and customer complaints across multiple locations. Support root cause analysis efforts by gathering data and documentation. Monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure. Escalate overdue or ineffective actions as appropriate.
Data Monitoring & Reporting Collect, track, and report quality performance metrics (KPIs). Identify trends related to recurring issues, audit findings, or customer complaints. Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and management review. Training & Communication Support quality-related training and awareness initiatives.
Assist with development and updates of quality procedures and work instructions. Serve as a point of contact for quality-related questions at assigned locations.
Qualifications
Education
& Experience Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2–4 years of experience in quality, logistics, warehousing, transportation, or supply chain operations. Experience supporting audits and corrective action processes preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 preferred). Ability to interpret procedures and requirements and apply them in operational environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality tracking systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities across locations.
Travel Requirements Travel is required based on business needs and operational priorities. This role may require domestic and international travel to customer, supplier, carrier, vendor, and other ProTrans facilities throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Travel may be necessary to support audits, quality investigations, process implementations, training, and cross-functional initiatives.
Travel frequency will vary depending on project scope, business demands, and network requirements Working Conditions Combination of office, warehouse, dock, and transportation environments. May require walking facilities, observing operations, and reviewing documentation on-site.
