Minimum Training and Education: Patient Care Technician I: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Patient Care Technician II: High school diploma/GED and ONE of the following requirements must be met. Associate or Bachelor's degree At least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
