Healthcare Collections Specialist

Description Healthcare Collections Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collection Specialist to join our healthcare billing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, and maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact clients via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on insurance carrier claims
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify denials, rejections, etc
• Negotiate/Settlement agreements with attorney, motor vehicle, insurance
• Document all collection activities accurately in the company’s system
• Collaborate with the billing and revenue cycle team to resolve billing/collection issues
• Escalate accounts as necessary to management or legal teams for further action
• Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and company policies related to collections Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related healthcare insurance billing role
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and empathetically
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing insurance collections
• Familiar with HIPAA privacy guidelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collection management software
