Department Manager

Role Purpose The purpose of this role is to lead the Wood department by driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and achieving business objectives through effective team leadership, product expertise, and strong commercial performance. The Department Manager will ensure the department operates efficiently, maintains high service standards, develops team capability, and delivers solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with company standards and values.

Key Responsibilities

Perform duties and activities associated with the role in an efficient and professional manner. Deliver agreed objectives, targets, and performance outcomes within established timelines. Proven experience in a similar role or industry environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience working with relevant systems, tools, and technologies associated with the role.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Qualifications

and Experience Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification. Bachelor’s degree or Diploma Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advantageous) At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role Experience leading and supporting teams, including coaching, training, and managing disciplinary processes Strong understanding and enforcement of workplace health & safety regulations and product quality standards
