Job Summary
The System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting IT infrastructure solutions. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, and scalability of systems while aligning technology solutions with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization, networks, and security systems). Install, configure, and support operating systems (Windows/Linux) and enterprise applications. Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar). Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Apply security best practices, patches, and updates to protect systems. Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions. Provide technical support and escalation for complex infrastructure issues. Prepare technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
Participate in project planning, implementation, and post-deployment support. Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and SLAs. Provide technical input for pre-sales activities and solution designs (if required).
Required Skills
& Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3+ years of experience in system engineering or infrastructure roles. Strong knowledge of: Windows Server / Linux Active Directory, DNS, DHCP Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) Storage solutions (SAN, NAS) Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery.
Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls). Familiarity with security solutions and best practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Certifications Microsoft (MCSA / MCSE or equivalent) VMware (VCP) Linux (LPIC / RHCSA) ITIL Foundation Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Sophos, Fortinet, etc.)
