We’re looking to recruit a Finance

  • Accounts Payable Apprentice to join our Finance team, sat within Group Central Support, based at our London headquarters. This is an entry level role with no previous Finance experience required. The central support function consists of 150 professionals across Finance, Corporate Development, HR, Marketing, IT, Legal and Education, who each support the continued growth of our more than 75 schools in over 30 countries.   • Accounts Payable Apprentice, a member of the Finance function, you’ll help us to provide accounts payable support for the centrally managed entities; ensuring the A/P functions are in compliance with Group policies. You’ll also explain specialist knowledge on all accounts payable related queries.

Your role

will impact the organisation by assisting in providing training to colleagues on group policies in relation to accounts payable. You will also work towards an AAT Accountancy qualification as part of your ongoing development.

Responsibilities

Support the Accounts Payable Officer on training employees on how to use the accounts payable system Shares specialist knowledge on all accounts payable related queries Implementing improvement initiatives identified in the AP function such as data quality improvement in system Ensuring invoices are approved promptly and following up with budget holders when necessary to ensure timely processing Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies Prompt resolutions to queries in the Accounts Payable inbox Setting up and maintaining vendor details Making regular and ad hoc payments through the online banking system Handling of accounts payable and intercompany transactions; involving; processing of invoices, intercompany transactions and employee expense claims Ad hoc support as requested by Central Services Accountant and Financial Controller Qualifications Natural curiosity for problem solving Grade 5 or above in at least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English High level of attention to detail Numerical competence Good organisational skills Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel Good cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.

Excellent analytical skills – with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success. Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
