Temple Construction and Facilities Management Internship
Job description
Work under the guidance of supervising staff and receive regular coaching and feedback. Success in the role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, sound judgment, the ability to meet deadlines, collaborate effectively with others, take direction, and progressively demonstrate initiative and independence.
Support temple construction or facility maintenance operations, inspections, and site assessments under supervision. Assist with capital projects, including planning, coordination, documentation, and follow-up activities. Gain experience in construction, facilities management, asset planning, lifecycle management, and project prioritization.
Participate in site visits, information interviews, workshops, and learning sessions with construction, facilities professionals and project management or other subject matter experts. Work with supervisors to plan activities, set learning objectives, and review progress. Maintain accurate records of internship activities, learning outcomes, and assigned work.
Build effective working relationships with local and global teams through professional communication and collaboration. Perform other construction, facilities management or development assignments as directed. Currently enrolled at BYU–Hawaii and registered in the Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) major. Must have 9 credits in the CFM program and at least 60 total credits.
Available to complete at least 14 weeks of a 16-week internship, ideally from July onwards 2027 Must not be enrolled in academic courses during the internship period. Able to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship. Must have legal authorization to intern (work) in the country for which the internship is based.
Demonstrates keen interest in temple construction, facilities management, and project delivery. Able to work effectively under the supervision of construction, facilities, site or project professionals. Demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, initiative, and willingness to learn. Able and willing to participate in site visits, training, professional development, and other assigned learning activities, and internship evaluation processes.
