Fiji: TVET Coordinator
Job description
The Seminaries and Institutes of Religion (S&I) Department is seeking a dedicated Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Coordinator in Fiji. The Coordinator will coordinate TVET programs, collaborate with school and community stakeholders, and help ensure quality educational opportunities are delivered in alignment with Church educational standards and local requirements.
This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area TVET Manager. The TVET Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating adult night-class TVET programs in Fiji and Kiribati working closely with the Area TVET Manager, school leaders, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery. This position supports compliance with local educational requirements, accreditation standards, and Church education policies while assisting with the review of TVET budgets and expenditures and management of facilities, equipment, and learning resources.
The successful candidate will support principals, TVET Heads of Department, and teachers in strengthening and improving TVET programs, maintain a culture of unity, accountability, continuous improvement, and Christ-centered service, and provide regular reporting on program progress. This role also includes participating in ongoing professional development and travelling as required to support TVET initiatives within the assigned area.
Trade Certificate of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4 years of experience in business or trades or administration and budgeting, preferably in education sector Strong understanding and skills related to business or school administration Competent interpersonal communication skills—including verbal communication, active listening, body language, openness, negotiation, decision making, conflict resolution and mediation Knowledge and skills to analyze relevant data, draw conclusions and make informed decisions.
Strong analytical, coordination, report writing and organizational skills Ability to plan and manage time, information, reports, resources, meetings, agendas and action items Ability to use standard office equipment and proficiency in MS Office tools Proof of legal right to work in Fiji A police background check may be required
