Finance Manager

ID Recruitment are working with an award-winning Mechanical Engineering company located in Mayo to recruit a Finance Manager. The person in this role will have strong leadership and commercial awareness and will be responsible to taking control and leading the day-to-day finance function of the business and provide accurate and timely financial information to the Directors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day finance function and oversee members of the accounts team. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for Directors. Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenditure and financial performance. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, supplier payments and credit control. Oversee weekly payroll and VAT, PAYE/PRSI and other Revenue requirements.

Ensure bank and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisers. Support project cost tracking, committed costs and other commercial reporting. Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve finance processes and systems.

Provide financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to support management decision-making. Experience & Skills: Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar role. Strong practical experience across management accounts, AP, AR, payroll, cash flow and financial reporting. Experience managing or supervising an accounts team.

Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail. Confident working independently and communicating with Directors and senior management. Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be advantageous. Accounting/finance qualification or significant relevant experience.
