Summary: Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, the Field Officer acts as the primary liaison between the organization and target communities, educational institutions, and local partners within the operational district. This pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of women and girls by facilitating timely, accurate communication among all stakeholders.
The incumbent will lead the execution of outreach initiatives, including the coordination of stakeholder meetings, the organization of awareness campaigns, and the monitoring of project activities. Success in this position demands a deep expertise in project lifecycle management, community engagement, and specialized knowledge regarding gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, and safeguarding protocols.
The Field Officer must possess the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with volunteers and interns, ensuring a secure environment while driving the organization's mission forward.
Responsibilities
Lead awareness-raising campaigns on GBV and referral pathways alongside a team of volunteers and interns, ensuring clear communication of Rainbo Centre services. Conduct comprehensive mapping of communities and schools to identify opportunities for outreach and establish new community structures to strengthen GBV referral mechanisms.
Facilitate the creation and operation of GBV and adolescent clubs within schools to encourage peer-to-peer dialogue on early warning signs and referral processes. Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and interns, providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and assistance in developing work and messaging plans.
Organize and conduct regular engagement meetings with stakeholders to educate them on GBV issues, referral pathways, and available support services. Manage media interactions to promote GBV awareness, referral protocols, and the capabilities of the Rainbo Centre. Contribute to the development and execution of annual safeguarding and prevention work plans, ensuring clear definition of responsibilities and activities.
Monitor, document, and report on safeguarding and GBV incidents occurring within and around project-targeted schools. Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation unit to gather data related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Sexual Harassment (SH) across projects and consultancies. Verify and follow up on safeguarding and GBV cases with partners, including the Family Support Unit and Grievance Redress Mechanism groups.
Integrate safeguarding principles into all community and district-level activities and maintain a resource tool for systematic staff education on SEA/SH prevention. Support the Program Coordinator in delivering prevention programs and schedule necessary training sessions for schools, communities, and partners. Identify and partner with local organizations to provide targeted education and prevention initiatives.
Provide strategic input on program development, implementation, evaluation, and donor reporting to drive continuous improvement. Plan and execute all project activities in strict adherence to approved work plans, donor standards, and organizational quality benchmarks. Develop activity concept notes and budgets, ensuring efficient fund management, timely requisitions, and accurate liquidations.
Partner with the M&E team to implement the MEAL plan, ensuring regular and precise data collection procedures are followed. Represent the organization at external events and meetings as required, and ensure full compliance with all organizational policies regarding fraud, safety, and human resources. Prepare and submit regular weekly and monthly activity reports, plans, and updates on project visits.
Contribute to proposal development and maintain an updated project budget tracker aligned with business requirements.
