Patient Care Assistant

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Patient Care Assistant will assist# in patient monitoring, patient care, clerical, coordination, and receptionist duties.# Direct patient care is done under the direction of the RN and within the scope of# sound professional nursing practice to be delegated. They will also perform# other assigned duties for which they have been specifically trained.

Education

1. High school graduate or equivalent required upon hire.#
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within ninety (90) days#of hire B. Training and Experience:
3. Must successfully complete computer training.#
4. Must be able to successfully pass a basic arrhythmia test with a score#of 80% or better, prior to employment.
5. Knowledge of some medical and technical terminology and hospital#policies and procedures. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: A. Ability to perform:
6. Heavy lifting.
7. Sustained walking, standing and sitting.
