Position Summary

Artic Air is looking for an experienced Septic Installer to install, replace and repair residential septic systems across our service area. You will run the job on site: locating utilities, excavating, setting tanks, building drain fields to the approved permit, preparing for inspection and restoring the property when the work is done.

This is a hands-on outdoor role for someone who is confident on equipment, takes pride in clean, code-compliant work and represents the company well in front of homeowners.

Key Responsibilities

Install new and replacement septic systems, including concrete and plastic tanks, distribution boxes and drain fields, following the approved permit and site plan Excavate, set tanks, dig trenches, lay pipe and backfill to the correct elevations, slopes and setbacks Operate heavy equipment safely, including mini excavator, backhoe and skid steer Read permit drawings and site plans; shoot grades and elevations with a laser level Repair and replace failed drain fields, baffles, lids, risers, effluent filters, lift station pumps and alarms Call in utility locates before digging and follow trench and excavation safety practices on every job Prepare systems for county and state inspections and correct any items noted by the inspector Restore the site after the work: final grading, sod or seed preparation and cleanup, protecting the customer's yard and landscaping Document each job in company field software on a tablet, including photos, materials used and job notes Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners about the scope, timeline and what to expect Keep equipment, trailer and company vehicle clean, maintained and job-ready Requirements 2+ years of hands-on septic installation experience, or underground utility or excavation work with septic exposure Proficient operating a mini excavator and/or backhoe Working knowledge of septic tanks, drain fields and Florida installation standards (Chapter 62-6, F.

A.C.) Ability to read site plans and permit drawings and to work to grade Valid Florida driver's license and an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Able to lift 50 to 75 lbs regularly and work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity and rain Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or with a small crew Preferred Qualifications Florida DEP Registered Septic Tank Contractor, or actively working toward registration CDL Class A or B Experience with aerobic treatment units (ATUs), mound systems, lift stations or performance-based systems OSHA 10, or trench and excavation competent person training Experience in Putnam, St.
