Finishing Operator

Description: Ensuring that couplings are properly doped, thread caps are placed and tightened on the ends. Also starting the couplings by hand for specified threaded end. Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment.

Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 65 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Qualifications

1.1. High School or equivalent work related experience. 1.2. Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner required. 1.3. Ability to use hands to clean, paint and lift objects to chest height. 1.4. Must have good finger dexterity and good hand and eye coordination. 1.5. Must be able to work with others, with minimal supervision and meet deadlines. 2.

Responsibilities

2.1. To support all functions of the department. 2.2. Verify incoming material against work orders. 2.3. Ensure proper doping and deburring. 2.4. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules. 3. Activities: 3.1. Doping, drifting, stencil, capping, deburring, paint machinery. 3.2. This position may require operating a forklift. 3.3. Complete Job Safety Analysis on a daily basis. 3.4. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris. 3.5. Other duties as assigned. 4. Authority and Obligation: 4.1. This position has the authority to stop work if he deems it necessary, for reasons of possible equipment, pipe damage or safety concern.
