Residential Behavior Technician (BHT)

Behavioral Health Tech (Residential) Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) provides direct support to clients in a residential behavioral health treatment setting. This role focuses on maintaining a structured environment, implementing treatment plans, and assisting with daily activities.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support clients in daily routines. Monitor client behavior and provide crisis intervention as needed. Assist with group activities and therapeutic exercises. Document client progress and behavior. Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Skills and Competencies: Commitment to Ava Health’s core values of Agency, Service, and Purpose.

Strong observational and interpersonal skills. Ability to de-escalate situations and provide crisis intervention.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health. Additional Requirements: Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining licensure and certifications. If in recovery, a minimum of 2 years of sobriety is required.
