Provide medical services within the scope of the Departmental Policies for the provision of care in the inpatient and outpatient settings at UPMC Whitfield, Hospital Waterford.
Provide thorough clinical evaluation, careful explanation to patients and family and collaborative decision making when necessary, for the proper delivery of surgical and medical services to the patients in our facility.
Complete documentation of patients’ assessment, history and physical on admission, and write appropriate follow up comments in case notes in line with the assessment of Patient Policy.
Diagnose and treat patients under the direction of the relevant consultant.
Initiate and monitor treatment as clinically appropriate and safe.
Liaise with other clinical disciplines within the hospital (Anesthetists, Nursing, diagnostic Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy) in relation to patient care.
Respond to all Code Blues and lead the nursing staff in emergency/cardiac arrest procedures.
Provide cover on a rostered basis to always ensure on-site RMO presence when there are patients being treated. Participate in an on-call roster.
Assist consultants in theatres when required
