Job description
Job Summary
Assist with the set-up and operation of CNC Door Machine for high volume production of commercial door products while adhering to and understanding safety policies and regulations.
Essential Functions
& Responsibilities Perform all job operations in a safe manner in accordance with company safety policies. Read work tickets of items to be machined using product knowledge and reading skills. Assist with set-up machinery daily, depending on the job to be performed and using work tickets and trade skills for specified product.
Operate the CNC Door Machine Equipment under the supervision of a more experienced operator. Includes working knowledge of basic machine adjustments and functionality. Assist with the material handling at the infeed and outfeed of the CNC Door Machine as required. Inspect finished product for quality using product knowledge and work ticket.
Monitor quality daily in accordance with Quality Control Plan. Report all damaged material to the Commercial Door shop Leadperson and/or Supervisor so that it may be recorded, in order to maintain accurate inventory records. Mark damaged material with label supplied by the Supervisor. Machine Maintenance: Perform routine daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and machine calibration so that operations continue effectively using necessary equipment and supplies ie: oil, new blades, cleaning.
Consistent attention to any unusual machine performance and immediate report to Department Lead. So that production runs smoothly, “clean as you go” i.e.: sweeping, storing, cleaning, and using the necessary equipment. Maintain clean and safe work area to meet OSHA and company standards. Separate, organize and repair returned material when required.
This material will either be returned to stock or sent to the Remodelers Outlet. Employee will operate a forklift in a safe manner (if certified to use). (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain & Safety) Required Education & Experience Must be at least 18 years of age High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language Hand and power tools experience standard to the carpentry field (see list below) Ability to use measuring devices such as a tape measure and transfer them to a production piece within 1/32' Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations Must be able to work overtime when needed and some Saturdays to satisfy production schedule demands Must have prior experience in finish carpentry or assembly of finished wood products for the end user Knowledge of general safety guidelines in carpentry or construction field Some product knowledge of doors and door trim Experience working in a team environment Tool and Machine Experience Cardboard Stapler Corrigator Cross Cut/ Radial Arm Saw Drill Grinder-Utility Hot Melt/ Adhesive Applicator Jig Saw Jointer Architect Door Machine Edge Door Machine Face Door Machine KVAL Lift System
