Job description
ENGINEER (ELEC PRICING & TARIFFS) 33001214 Job Purpose: Applies professional principles and, controls technical procedures and processes to address the provision of an electricity and infrastructure pricing and a supply economics service to internal and external clients. Key Responsibility Areas: •Provides comments on options and alternatives with respect to the processes and procedures encapsulated in electricity and infrastructure pricing.
•Provides advice/information and guidance on the principles, procedures and applications associated with a complex form of electricity and infrastructure pricing. •Applies principles and techniques associated with the development and presentation of technical designs for complex forms of electricity reduction techniques and tariff economics.
•Co-ordinating and/or guiding sequences and procedures associated with the preparation of contract documentation and/or evaluating tender applications for complex engineering work related to the project. •Defines standards and controls the implementation/outcomes associated with specific complex engineering contracts.
•Disseminates information on the professional aspects of electricity and infrastructure pricing concepts and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes. Competencies: •Planning •Organisational awareness •Attention to detail •Design •Project Management. •Interpersonal relationships •Communication •Service delivery orientation •Action and outcome orientation •Change readiness •Cognitive ability •Accountability and ethical conduct Essential Requirements: •Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
•Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Candidate Engineer in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. •Valid motor vehicle driving license. •2 Years relevant post qualification experience in the Electricity Supply Industry. •Computer Literacy. Special Conditions: Appointment is subject to applicants achieving the required number of credits that would be deemed as a pass in the Internal Assessment Test.
Progression in grades will be in terms of Progression Circular GP0034, or as amended from time to time. Key Responsibility Areas: •Provides support and participates in functional planning processes associated with electricity and infrastructure pricing priorities and requirements. •Provides advice, information and guidance on the principles, procedures, and applications associated with complex forms of electricity and infrastructure pricing programs and statistical analysis.
•Manages the principles and applications associated with the development and presentation of technical designs for complex forms of electricity reduction techniques and tariff economics. •Manages procedures associated with the preparation, collation of contract documentation and/or evaluating tender applications for complex engineering works.
•Defines appropriate standards and controls the implementation/outcomes of complex forms of engineering contracts. •Disseminates information on the professional aspects of electricity and infrastructure pricing concepts and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes. Competencies: •Planning •Organisational awareness •Attention to detail •Design •Interpersonal relationships •Communication •Service delivery orientation •Action and outcome orientation •Change readiness •Cognitive ability •Accountability and ethical conduct •Direction setting Essential Requirements: •Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
•Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. •Valid motor vehicle driving license. •5 Years relevant post qualification in the Electricity Supply Industry. Preferred Requirements: •6 years relevant post registration experience in the Electricity Supply Industry and Energy pricing and Tariffs.
Special Conditions: Appointment or, progression to Chief Engineer level will be subject to applicants achieving the required number of credits that would be deemed as a pass in the Internal Assessment Test. This post reports to SENIOR MANAGER (PRICING AND MARKETING)
