POSITION: Assistant Cook Manager LOCATION: Centennial High School

  • East Campus START DATE: ASAP HOURS: 6.5 hours/day - 6:30 am to 1:00 pm DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS: Assists Cook Manager with coordinating and leading kitchen operations by directing food production while ensuring compliance with federal compliance standards, safety and sanitation standards and nutritional standards by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in managing food production, meal accountability to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while meeting high standards of quality, nutrition and wellness Assist in conducting taste testing with students Assist in ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation rules Assist in managing kitchen use for catering operations and compliance with state and federal regulations Provide high level of customer service Attend monthly meetings for managers and conferences to enhance professional growth and awareness Assist in providing staff development related to food production and equipment as needed Perform monthly usage reports Assist with food ordering or supplies Order and fill vending machines. Count deposits. Follow and ensure staff comply with health department, USDA, local, state and federal regulations Other duties as assigned by the Cook Manager or Director of Food Services PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly (67-100% of the time) required to stand; use hands to fingers, handles or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently (34-66% of the time) is required to walk and stoop. The employee is occasionally (0-33% of the time) is required to climb. The employee must regularly (67-100% of the time) lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently (34-66% of the time) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally (0-33% of the time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

(EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES): High School Diploma or equivalent Obtain Level 3 certificate from School Nutrition Association within 90 days of hire Obtain Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager license within 90 days of hire At least 3 years of food service experience - preferred TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Days school is in session plus 3 days before the school year, 1 maintenance day during the school year and 1 day after the school year.
