Clinical RN

Position Summary: Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experience# R.N. Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established# nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process. # Qualifications: Education: Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Training and Experience:

1. One-year experience in acute care setting preferred.
2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American# Heart Association required.
3. Successful completion of hospital and nursing orientation within 3# months of hire.
4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the# American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer to# department.
5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the# American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer to# department
6. EKG course within one year of hire or transfer to department.
7. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or# transfer to department: # Lab order entry # Documentation # IV therapy # Unit safety # Body substance isolation # Handling controlled substances # Role in Code Blue # Admitting patients to the unit
8. Outpatient PACU staff: # Understanding anesthesia agents # Understanding reversal agents # Planning care of the patient # Implementation of care # Arrythmia recognition # Role in Code Blue # Pacemakers # Respiratory needs of patients # Neurological system # Musculoskeletal system # Medication decision making # PACU equipment # Evaluation of care Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: A.
