Position Summary

The Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics is looking to hire a Technician B to work jointly in the laboratories of Drs. Shawn Liu and Yueqing Peng. Successful applicant will join a vibrant, collaborative, and productive research team, with continuous opportunity for technical and intellectual growth. The applicant will work closely with the principal investigators, postdocs, and graduate students in designing, carrying out, and coordinating research.

Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Assist with general lab management tasks including keeping track of, organizing, and ordering supplies and organizing equipment maintenance, as needed. Assist with animal work, behavioral experiments, and data analysis. Perform other related laboratory duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, neuroscience, psychology, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Familiar with basic wet lab skills, such as PCR, electrophoresis, perfusion, immunostaining, etc. Adequate communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
