Academic Coach

Whitney Campus – Anacortes | Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County Part-Time (18–24 hrs/week) | $21.65–$22.97 DOE/DOQ (+$1.00/hour Anacortes location differential)

What if the most valuable thing you could teach a young person isn't an answer, but the confidence to figure things out for themselves?

At our Whitney Campus in Anacortes, we're looking for an Academic Coach who can turn curiosity into discovery and help school-age youth recognize just how capable they really are.

This isn't about recreating the school day after the final bell rings. You'll provide homework support, introduce engaging STEM challenges, explore technology, and create hands-on learning experiences that encourage youth to ask questions, solve problems, and discover new interests.

Some days you'll help someone work through a tricky assignment. Other days you'll turn an everyday question into an experiment or encourage a group to tackle a challenge together. Through it all, you'll help youth develop academic skills, independence, and the confidence to keep trying when something doesn't come easily.

You'll also build positive relationships with youth and collaborate with Club staff, families, schools, and community partners to help create an environment where learning feels welcoming, supportive, and rewarding.

We're looking for someone who brings patience, creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to think outside the box. Someone who understands that every young person learns differently and knows how to make the process encouraging and fun.

If you're excited about helping youth discover new possibilities, develop their strengths, and see learning as an adventure rather than an obligation, we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and help make learning something youth look forward to at Whitney Campus!
