Elementary Leave Replacement Teachers

Position: Elementary Leave Replacement Teacher (Vacancy Grades 3; Vacancy Grade 4; Approximately mid-October through January) Location: Jeffrey Ratner Robert Seaman Elementary School Position Type: ~3 Month Leave Replacement (with permanent substitute teaching position to follow through June) Reports To: Building Principal Position Overview Jeffrey Ratner Robert Seaman Elementary School in the Jericho School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered educator to join our elementary team as a 3rd/4th Grade Leave Replacement Teacher.

The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes academic growth and social-emotional development during the regular teacher's temporary absence.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction across core elementary subjects, including ELA, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Maintain instructional continuity by implementing established curriculum while adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs and accommodation plans (IEPs/504s). Collaborate closely with grade-level peers, specialized staff, and administration to align with school-wide learning goals.

Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student growth and classroom updates, including leading Parent Teacher Conferences.

Qualifications

Valid NYS Teaching Certification for Elementary Education 1�6. Evidence of lesson planning aligned with state standards integrating learning targets and engagement protocols. Proficiency with instructional technology (e.g., interactive displays, Google Classroom, learning platforms). Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
