Description We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with an interest in dementia care to join our team at Vita of Marion , a senior living community in Marion, Indiana. This is a great opportunity for an SLP who enjoys working with older adults and is passionate about helping residents maintain and improve their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities .

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each resident's needs, goals, and level of function. Dementia & Cognitive Care Provide skilled interventions designed to support communication, cognition, safety, and quality of life for residents living with dementia and other cognitive changes. Swallowing & Communication Services Provide skilled speech-language pathology services addressing communication, cognition, and swallowing needs while collaborating with residents, families, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.

Documentation Complete timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Team Collaboration Work closely with PT, OT, nursing, facility staff, residents, and families to promote coordinated, resident-centered care. Professional Development Participate in team development meetings and take advantage of opportunities to continue growing your clinical skills.

Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). Licensure: Valid Indiana Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility. Clinical Skills: Strong assessment and treatment skills with the ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Experience or interest in dementia care, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders is encouraged. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Technology: Computer proficiency and ability to document in an electronic medical record system.

Physical Requirements: Ability to assist residents as needed and perform physical tasks related to therapy, including standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the facility.
