The tutor is primarily responsible for encouraging self-directed learning and development in each student. To do this, a tutor assists students in understanding their coursework. This may require the tutor to help clarify a concept or give a clear explanation of an assignment. The tutor is not expected to correct student papers or make revisions, but rather to provide clarifying comments and guidance on the writing process.
