CNC Laser Operator - 1st Shift

CNC Laser Operator — 1st Shift Build precision components with an established Fairfield, Ohio manufacturer. Join G&W Products G&W Products is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to join our first-shift manufacturing team in Fairfield, Ohio. In this hands-on role, you will set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precise, high-quality components while supporting safe, efficient production.

Established in 1968, G&W Products provides contract metal manufacturing and fabrication services from three Fairfield facilities totaling 190,000 square feet. Our capabilities include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die production, and assembly for customers in construction, transportation, energy, defense, and other industries.

What You’ll Do Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines according to job orders, blueprints, and technical documentation. Load materials and adjust machine settings to achieve precise dimensions and quality standards. Monitor cutting operations and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and prevent errors.

Inspect completed parts using appropriate measurement tools to verify specifications and quality. Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance to support reliability and minimize downtime. Maintain accurate production records and promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns. Partner with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve cutting processes.

What You’ll Bring At least two years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints and using measurement tools. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures for laser cutting operations. Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and strong attention to detail.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification or proven experience running CNC machine operation or laser cutting technology. Experience programming CNC laser machines Knowledge of metals, plastics, composites, and other materials used in laser cutting. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
