Maintenance Worker

Position: Maintenance Worker Saint Mary of Hannah Employment type: Part-time Location: Kingsley, MI General Summary: This position provides adequate maintenance and preventative maintenance of the buildings and grounds, to include all equipment & vehicles. It furthermore seeks to extend the life and appearance of these items.

Additionally, the position is intended to promote the safety of all who spend time on campus, whether staff members, students, or visitors. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance duties. May perform various routine maintenance and repairs including limited carpentry and plumbing duties, based on skill level and experience.

Helps with a variety of installation, repairs, and renovations to buildings including but not limited to electrical fixtures and switches, and semi-skilled tasks in construction, repair, and maintenance of wooden structures. Installation, repair, and renovation of some equipment including electrical appliances, valves, hot water heaters, sinks, commodes, hand basins, kitchen appliances, and heating/cooling systems.

Snow and ice removal from ramps, walkways, and parking areas. Lawn and landscape duties. Drywall and painting work. Moving, transporting furniture/equipment/supplies. Prioritizes and completes maintenance requests in a timely manner. Is responsible for all of the equipment, vehicles, and tools used.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar field. Must have a valid driver’s license with valid car insurance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to move and load equipment and supplies that weigh fifty (50) pounds or more. Must be able to work independently, without direct supervision.

Must be able to kneel, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and also climb ladders. The Employee is expected to work at the campus, primarily in the mornings, when the lots and the walkways will need attention. A 6am arrival would be conducive. This position may require minimal travel. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work for the titled position.
