Medical Assistant [Baptist Jax]

Medical Assistant North Florida Surgeons- Baptist Jacksonville division is looking for an energetic, patient focused medical assistant. Job Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares patients for evaluation and management by reviewing pertinent patient information including patient medication on each visit. Answering telephones, taking messages, returning calls to patients Prescription management Chart preparation, responding to referral requests.

Takes patient histories and vital signs and documents into EMR system. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment/supplies for each patient’s visit. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. Assists physicians and physician assistants Ensuring that patients have all tests/studies/documentation completed before seeing the medical provider.

Work is of high demand, walking and standing.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to work assigned work schedule to specific to physician clinics. High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred Minimum of one year work experience medical office environment. ATHENA EMR experience preferred. Previous medical office experience.

Computer skills for accurate data entry. Knowledge of basic medical terminology Professionalism, good work ethic and engaging team member.
