Sales Engineer(India)

Full-timePosted Aug 18, 2026

Job description

About Procure. Desk Procure. Desk is procurement software built to help businesses control purchasing, streamline approvals, and gain visibility into company spend. We are scaling toward a $30M revenue business by July 2028. That requires a sales motion where buyers trust that Procure. Desk can solve their real operational and technical requirements before they sign.

This role is central to creating that confidence. The Mission of This Role Own the technical win for qualified sales opportunities. You will partner with Account Executives to understand each prospect's workflow, demonstrate how Procure. Desk solves their requirements, manage technical evaluations, and remove product-related risk from the buying decision.

You are not a generic demo resource. You are accountable for turning technical uncertainty into buyer confidence and helping the sales team close more of the right opportunities. Outcomes You Will Own Increase the technical win rate on qualified opportunities you support. Ensure prospects receive relevant, use-case-specific product demonstrations rather than generic platform tours.

Identify technical requirements, integration needs, implementation risks, and product gaps early enough to protect deal quality. Create a reliable feedback loop from prospects and sales into Product, so the team understands recurring objections, gaps, and deal blockers. Reduce dependency on the founder and product team for routine pre-sales support.

What You'll Do

Partner with AEs from discovery through close on qualified sales opportunities. Lead technical discovery to understand the prospect's procurement process, approval workflows, integrations, reporting needs, security requirements, and implementation expectations. Deliver tailored product demonstrations that connect Procure.

Desk capabilities to the prospect's operational and business problems. Build and manage technical evaluation plans, including requirements documentation, proof-of-concept activities, follow-ups, and stakeholder alignment. Respond accurately and promptly to technical questions, security questionnaires, RFPs, and product capability requests.

Coordinate with Product and Engineering on technical validation, integration questions, product gaps, and roadmap-related requests. Translate product capabilities into simple, credible business value for finance, procurement, operations, and IT stakeholders. Maintain detailed opportunity notes, technical requirements, risks, actions, and next steps in the CRM.

Surface recurring objections and lost-deal technical patterns, then recommend changes to product messaging, enablement, demos, or the product roadmap. Help improve demo environments, technical collateral, security materials, integration documentation, and pre-sales playbooks. Core KPIs Technical win rate on supported opportunities Opportunity progression rate after technical discovery/demo Sales cycle time for supported opportunities Percentage of technical follow-ups completed within SLA Number of founder/Product escalations per opportunity Demo-to-next-step conversion rate Product feedback quality: recurring objection and gap themes identified with evidence What We Are Looking For 3–6+ years of pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or technical account-facing experience in B2B SaaS.

Current or recent experience supporting US-based customers and sales teams. Strong spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with US buyers across business and technical audiences. Experience in procurement, spend management, AP automation, finance systems, ERP, workflow software, or adjacent B2B SaaS is strongly preferred.

Direct pre-sales experience at companies such as GEP, Airbase, Coupa, Ramp, Zip, SAP Ariba, Procurify, or similar platforms is a strong advantage. Ability to run structured technical discovery, not simply present product features. Comfortable navigating integrations, APIs, SSO, ERP/accounting-system requirements, security conversations, and implementation considerations.

Strong attention to detail and disciplined follow-through — you document commitments, own next steps, and do not let technical questions go unanswered. Able to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation without creating friction. Builder mentality: comfortable improving the pre-sales system, not just operating within it.

What Great Looks Like AEs bring you into deals because you make them materially more likely to close. Prospects leave technical conversations knowing exactly how Procure. Desk will work in their environment. Product receives clear, evidence-based feedback rather than vague feature requests. Sales opportunities move faster because technical questions are handled with speed, precision, and ownership.

The founder is no longer pulled into routine demos, technical validation, or product capability explanations. What This Role Is Not A generic product demo role. A post-sale implementation or support role. A person who forwards prospect questions to Product and waits for answers. A pure solutions architect role focused only on large enterprise integrations.

This is a commercially accountable pre-sales role. Your work should help the sales team create technical confidence and close the right deals.
