SAP ABAP – Transportation Management (TM)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and support SAP ABAP solutions for SAP Transportation Management (TM). Work closely with SAP TM functional consultants to translate functional specifications into robust technical solutions. Develop and enhance TM functionality involving Freight Units, Freight Orders, Freight Bookings, Transportation Requests, Charges, Planning and Execution processes.

Strong hands-on experience with the BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework) used extensively within SAP TM, including determinations, validations, actions, queries, and enhancements. Develop solutions using ABAP Objects (OO ABAP), CDS Views, AMDP, RAP/OData services, and other S/4HANA development technologies where applicable.

Strong experience with Enhancement Framework, BAd. Is, enhancement spots, implicit/explicit enhancements, Custom Fields and Logic (CFL) and other S/4HANA extensibility approaches. Develop and support interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, APIs, web services, OData, proxies, and integration with SAP CPI/Integration Suite. Experience working with TM-related integration with S/4HANA modules such as SD, MM, EWM, and FI.

Develop and enhance Adobe Forms, output solutions, reports, workflows, background jobs, and custom applications as required. Perform debugging and root-cause analysis of complex TM technical issues across integrated systems. Conduct performance analysis and optimization of ABAP programs, CDS views, database queries, interfaces, and batch processes.

Prepare Technical Specification Documents (TSDs) based on approved Functional Specification Documents (FSDs). Perform code reviews and ensure developments comply with SAP S/4HANA Clean Core and ABAP Cloud-ready development principles. Perform technical unit testing and support FUT/SIT/UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and production stabilization.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ABAP developers.
