Position Summary

Retail Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of a retail location within an airport environment. This role assists travelers with product selection and purchases while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store. The Retail Associate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with a diverse customer base, and following airport security and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Provide product information, recommendations, and assistance with purchases. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently. Process cash, credit/debit card, and other approved payment transactions. Maintain accurate cash handling and follow company procedures for register reconciliation.

Stock merchandise, replenish shelves, and maintain attractive product displays. Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management. Receive, organize, and properly store merchandise deliveries. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor, stockroom, and checkout area. Follow company policies, airport regulations, security procedures, and safety requirements.

Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned. Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, and complaints. Work effectively with airport personnel, vendors, security personnel, and other retail team members. Remain attentive to the unique needs of airport travelers, including customers with limited time between flights.

Support promotional activities, seasonal displays, and company sales initiatives. Protect company assets and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security issues to management. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous retail, customer service, hospitality, or food-service experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Ability to operate a POS/register system and learn company technology. Dependable, punctual, and professional.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move merchandise as required. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to successfully comply with applicable airport security and access requirements.

Qualifications

Skills and Competencies: Ability to process information/merchandise through point of sale system. Ability to communicate with associates and customers in a professional manner. Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation. Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. 1-2 years of retail cashier/and/or sales experience preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, as needed. May be required to work overtime.
