Job Summary

The Systems Administrator role blends hands-on end-user support leadership with the technical depth to automate repetitive tasks, maintain a secure Windows domain environment, and support switch and wireless infrastructure at the access layer. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for both fielding escalated tickets and looking to improve processes and repetitive tasks with automation.

Essential Responsibilities: Help Desk Administration & Support Oversee and participate in Tier 1/2 help desk operations, ensuring timely resolution of end-user issues across a 500–1,000+ user environment Manage ticketing queues, SLAs, and escalation paths; identify recurring issues and drive root-cause fixes Administer and support end-user computing tools including Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management platforms (e.

g., Ninja. One ) Support and troubleshoot desktop and remote workstation fleet consisting of Windows and i. Gel machines Document standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles for common issues Scripting & Automation Write and maintain Ninja. One RMM and Power. Shell scripts to automate account provisioning/deprovisioning, reporting, and routine maintenance tasks Develop scripts and scheduled tasks to support security hardening initiatives (e.

g., AD attribute remediation, GPO enforcement, audit reporting) Build diagnostic and monitoring scripts to proactively identify issues before they become tickets Automate software deployment and patching workflows via RMM tooling Networking (Layer 2 & Wireless) Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot managed switches, including VLANs, trunking , port security, and STP fundamentals Support wireless network deployments including access point provisioning, SSID/VLAN mapping, and basic RF troubleshooting Assist with structured cabling, patch panel management, and network closet organization Troubleshoot Layer 2 connectivity issues impacting end-user devices, VDI sessions, and printers Collaborate with senior network/security staff on firewall rules, DNS, and DHCP as they relate to end-user connectivity Security & Systems Administration Support endpoint security tooling (e.

g., Sentinel. One , application control/allowlisting solutions) from an operational standpoint, including reviewing and triaging alerts relevant to help desk activity Assist with Active Directory hygiene and security best practices under guidance of senior admins Participate in patch management and vulnerability remediation efforts Experience/Educational requirements: Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a systems administration or senior help desk role Solid working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Demonstrated scripting ability in Power.

Shell or other tools Practical experience with managed switches (VLANs, trunking ) and wireless AP deployment/troubleshooting Experience with Microsoft 365 administration Strong troubleshooting methodology and customer service orientation Ability to document processes clearly and train junior staff Preferred Qualifications Experience with RMM platforms (e.

g., Ninja. One ) and endpoint security/allowlisting tools (e.g., Sentinel. One , Threat. Locker ) Experience supporting VDI environments ( Omnissa Horizon, Citrix, or similar) Familiarity with network security concepts (802.1X, port security, basic firewall rules) Exposure to healthcare or other compliance-driven IT environments Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or equivalent Tools & Technologies Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Power.

The posted pay range and actual compensation offered are based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, market data, internal equity, and organizational needs.
