Job description
Entertainment/Arcade Floor Supervisor (Part-Time, 25–30 hrs/wk) — 1UP Entertainment + Social Carrollwood / Tampa, FL Bowling pins crashing, axes flying, golf sims, VR, arcade, two bars, and an upscale scratch kitchen putting out elevated food in a high-energy room — that’s 1UP. We’re not a quiet neighborhood arcade, and that’s the point.
We’re hiring an Entertainment/Arcade Floor Supervisor — a hands-on, self-starting utility player who owns the arcade, keeps every attraction running, and leaves the entertainment floor spotless at close. This is a hands-on position. You’ll be on the floor every shift — running attractions, working the redemption counter, cleaning, closing, and jumping into shift assignments wherever the venue needs you.
Working closely with the Operations Director, you’ll own the day-to-day of the entire entertainment floor — bowling, axe, golf sims, VR, and arcade — train teammates to run it the right way, and help launch new revenue programs like our axe league and golf membership. What you’ll do Arcade & redemption Own the arcade floor: cleanliness, orderliness, machine readiness, and guest-ready presentation at all times.
Manage the redemption counter — merchandising, displays, stock levels, and a prize wall that looks fresh and pulls traffic. Track and manage arcade inventory — redemption prizes, tickets, consumables, replacement parts. Track games — current roster and history — know what’s on the floor today, what’s been swapped in and out, and how each game is performing over time.
Build and submit order and enhancement recommendations to management — what’s selling, what’s not, what to restock, what to retire, what to purchase. Pull and review arcade reporting — game performance, revenue by machine, redemption trends. Flag what’s underperforming. Routine arcade technician work (strongly preferred) — basic troubleshooting, card reader resets, bill acceptor clears, light repairs.
Partner with our in-house game technician to ensure arcade game uptime — flag issues early, coordinate on repairs, and keep the floor running. Manage vendor relationships as needed — schedule service visits, receive parts, log warranty claims. Attractions operations Operate every attraction fluently — bowling, axe throwing, golf sims, VR, and arcade.
Run it, coach guests through it, troubleshoot it. Work your shift assignments hands-on — whatever the shift calls for, you’re on the floor doing it alongside the team. Ensure Omnivere and XD are cleaned and maintained to standard every shift. Twice-weekly inventory of attraction equipment — count, inspect, and report so we never hit a service gap mid-shift.
Own guest experience --routine and event --across the entertainment floor — anticipate needs, recover service issues on the spot, and leave every guest wanting to come back or book another event. Turn negatives into positives — when a guest is unhappy, you own the recovery. Listen, solve, and send them home a fan. Manage guest-of-guest dynamics — know how to handle the kid wandering away from the party, the plus-one at axe lanes, the family group that just doubled in size.
Family-friendly comfort — comfortable working with families and minors, carding on axe lanes, and keeping the floor safe for every age group. Guest incident response — stay calm, follow safety protocols, document the incident, and escalate immediately to the Manager on Duty. Alcohol awareness — know when a guest shouldn’t throw an axe, bowl, or operate an attraction.
Make the call and coordinate with the bar and MOD. Own the lost and found — log items, store them safely, and reunite guests with their stuff. Own venue cleanliness on the entertainment side, including bathroom management — regular checks, stocking, cleanliness standards, and immediate response when something needs attention.
Jump in wherever the floor needs a hand — host, expo, attraction coach, guest recovery. Routine status updates to the Manager on Duty — surface anything critical during the shift so it lands in the night report (incidents, outages, 86s, guest escalations, safety concerns). Follow and help refine SOPs, safety checks, and daily/weekly checklists across bowling, axe, golf, VR, and arcade.
Programs, training, and growth Launch and manage the axe league and golf membership programs — build the structure, recruit members, run the weeks, keep retention high. Be comfortable expanding attractions into new programming opportunities — Karaoke, bingo, trivia, singles nights, and similar in-house programs. Partner with the Events Director and Operations Director on concept and calendar; you execute on the floor.
Capture social-worthy moments — short videos of axe bullseyes, VR reactions, arcade big wins, programmed-night energy. Feed content to the marketing team. New hire training — onboard new entertainment-floor teammates using the new-hire checklist, coach them through the attractions, and sign them off when they’re ready.
Own and update the new-hire checklist and operating protocols — keep SOPs, procedures, and training materials current as the venue evolves. Partner on shift coverage — flag availability conflicts, suggest the right people for events and programmed nights, help solve call-outs on the fly, and be the fill-in person yourself when the venue needs it.
Partner with the Operations Director on marketing ideas and awareness — attraction promos, league signups, arcade specials, social-worthy moments. Adapt, learn, and grow into other parts of the venue — FoH, expo, dish, and beyond. We want someone who meaningfully contributes across the business and grows with it. Closing Arcade and venue closing.
Start pre-close as soon as there’s no guest disruption — follow the checklist, hold the team accountable to the same standard, then move to the broader venue closing checklist and see it through to completion. Assist the closing manager with venue close — final walkthrough, security checks, lights, doors. Other Other duties as assigned or needed — this is a small business and a growing venue.
Everyone pitches in where it counts. What we need 2–3 years in a high-volume entertainment, hospitality, arcade, or FEC environment. Self-starter — non-negotiable. You see what needs doing and do it without being told. Hands-on mindset. This is a working supervisor role — you’re on the floor every shift. Attention to detail is a must.
Clean floors, clean bathrooms, straight displays, full prize walls, working machines. You notice the things guests notice. Comfortable operating and coaching guests through bowling, axe throwing, golf sims, and VR. Prior attraction experience a strong plus. Guest-experience instincts — you can turn a negative into a positive, de-escalate a frustrated guest, and leave them wanting to come back.
Comfortable working with families and minors — carding on axe lanes, keeping kids safe, managing birthday-party chaos without breaking stride. Alcohol awareness certification required (or willing to obtain — we’ll pay). Florida Responsible Vendor preferred. Comfortable with Square and Semnox — our POS and arcade card systems.
Prior experience a strong plus; if not, you’ll pick it up fast. Willingness to learn and cross-train into other parts of the venue — FoH, expo, dish, and wherever your contribution helps the business grow. Ability to train others effectively — patient, clear, and consistent. Comfortable owning the new-hire checklist and sign-off process.
Routine arcade technician ability — reboots, card reader and bill acceptor fixes, basic mechanical troubleshooting. A strong plus, not a requirement. Comfortable with reporting tools, inventory counts, and basic merchandising logic. Creative instincts for marketing ideas, promotions, and league/membership programs, and open to expanding into new programming like Karaoke, bingo, and trivia.
Supreme communication skills with guests, managers, and the floor team — including clean, routine status updates to the Manager on Duty. Schedule flexibility is essential — predominantly evenings and weekends, with closing shifts a regular part of the role. Available for events, Friday Night Vibes and similar programming, holidays, and pop-up coverage as needed.
Ready to be the fill-in person when coverage breaks down. Stand and move for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, work indoor/outdoor conditions. Age 21+. What you get $16.50–$18.50/hr based on experience. Part-time, 25–32 hours/week. 50% off employee discount on meals and attractions. Ground-floor growth opportunity — clear path into operations supervisor, operations manager, and beyond.
