Join Our Team as an Engineering Intern at ARRO Consulting! The Engineering Intern gains hands-on experience with real-world engineering and consulting projects while working alongside ARRO's engineers, designers, scientists, surveyors, field staff, and project managers. A unique part of ARRO's internship program is the opportunity to rotate through multiple service lines throughout the summer, including Survey, GIS, CADD, Environmental, Field Services, Water Resources, Site/Civil, and Project Management.
The program concludes with a capstone project that allows interns to apply and showcase what they've learned throughout their rotations. Essential Job Responsibilities Rotate through multiple ARRO service lines to gain exposure to different disciplines, projects, and career paths. Assist with engineering design, data collection, CADD and GIS work, environmental projects, surveying, and field assignments.
Participate in project site visits, fieldwork, inspections, and other hands-on learning opportunities. Support the preparation of drawings, calculations, reports, and project documentation. Work alongside and learn from professionals across ARRO's different service lines. Complete a capstone project incorporating knowledge and experience gained throughout the internship.
Any other duties, as necessary, to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and uphold the values of the organization. Required Skills/Knowledge Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related Engineering program. Junior, senior, or graduate student preferred. Interest in exploring multiple areas of engineering and consulting.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, or similar engineering software is a plus, but not required. Physical Requirements – Work Environment Ability to work in both office and field environments. Ability to travel to project sites and ARRO offices as needed for assigned rotations.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain. Ability to wear required PPE during fieldwork.

Daily Work Location/Hours This is a full-time summer internship, typically lasting approximately 10–12 weeks. Interns will generally work Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
Travel between ARRO offices and project locations is an expected part of the internship as interns rotate through different service lines.
