Helper

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Helper to assist experienced technicians with the installation, service, repair, and maintenance of commercial doors, automatic gates, and access systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to develop a skilled trade career in the commercial door and gate industry.

Training will be provided, with opportunities to grow into a Service or Installation Technician role.

Key Responsibilities

Assist technicians with the installation, service, and repair of commercial door and gate systems. Support work on automatic gates, overhead doors, roll-up doors, commercial doors, operators, and related access equipment. Help unload, stage, move, and organize materials, tools, doors, gates, operators, and hardware at job sites.

Assist with basic mechanical assembly, mounting, drilling, measuring, cutting, and installation tasks under technician supervision. Help run wiring and install components associated with gate operators and access control systems. Perform basic preventative maintenance, adjustments, lubrication, and equipment cleaning.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly use and care for company tools and equipment. Follow company and job-site safety procedures at all times. Travel to customer locations and job sites with assigned technicians. Learn troubleshooting, installation, and repair techniques from senior technicians. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous construction, mechanical, electrical, welding, door, gate, or general labor experience is preferred but not required . Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn. Comfortable using basic hand and power tools. Ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform basic measurements. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.

Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to work from ladders and around active construction environments. Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred.
