Sales and Estimating Specialist
Job description
On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Sales & Estimating Specialist for a position in North Bay, ON. Hourly Pay: $28-34/hr Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates complete with materials, labour, equipment, tooling, and subcontracted services. Develop detailed proposals through review of RFQs, technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Gather costing and scheduling information by coordinating with engineering, operations, purchasing, and sales teams. Prepare & submit customer proposals within required timelines. Prepare 3D sales models. Support the sales process through to project award. Conduct project kick-off meetings and support smooth hand-off between departments.
Maintain accurate project documentation, proposal files, and ERP system records. Attend customer meetings, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as required. Maintain strong customer relationships and support development of new business opportunities. Deliver professional presentations and technical discussions with customers.
Travel domestically and internationally to support customers, projects, and business development initiatives.
Qualifications
Engineering knowledge and experience working within a technical or industrial manufacturing environment. Proficient with SolidWorks for reviewing models, drawings, and supporting technical proposal development. 3+ years of experience in estimating, sales support, project coordination, or a related technical role. Post-secondary education in a relevant technical, engineering, business, or related field.
Strong understanding of manufacturing, mining equipment, heavy industrial equipment, or custom fabrication environments is considered an asset. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, 3D models, and project documentation. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong mathematical and analytical abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
