Job Summary
The IT Support Officer will provide day-to-day technical support and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and digital platforms. The role will ensure that staff have reliable access to the technology and tools required to perform their duties effectively. The Associate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining hardware and software, supporting users, managing email and digital systems, and assisting with the organisation’s website and social media platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving and technical skills, good communication abilities, and the ability to provide responsive and user-friendly IT support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, operating systems, networks, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment. Monitor the organisation’s computer systems and networks to ensure they remain secure, functional, and reliable. Respond promptly to staff IT support requests, technical issues, and service-related enquiries.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff on the effective use of computers, software, networks, and other digital tools. Set up and configure user accounts, email accounts, system access, and other IT resources for new staff. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and maintain faulty or damaged IT equipment where necessary.
Assist with the installation, testing, and deployment of new technologies, software, and IT solutions. Manage and maintain the organisation’s email system, including user accounts, access, and basic troubleshooting. Support the management, maintenance, and updating of the organisation’s website. Assist in managing and maintaining the organisation’s social media platforms and digital presence.
Conduct routine checks and maintenance of IT systems to minimise downtime and prevent technical disruptions. Maintain records of IT assets, equipment, software, user accounts, and technical support activities. Support data backup, system security, and basic cybersecurity practices across the organisation. Provide guidance to staff on IT best practices, responsible technology use, and basic troubleshooting.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend suitable tools or solutions that can improve the organisation’s operations. Perform other IT-related duties as may be assigned by management.
