Equipment Technical Service Specialist

Technical Service Specialist – Commercial Equipment Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking a Technical Service Specialist to join our Technical Service team in St. Joseph, MO. As a Technical Service Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource, helping resolve complex equipment issues while supporting field technicians, distributors, customers, and our sales team.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial floor cleaning and maintenance equipment. Provide technical support to customers, distributors, field technicians, and internal teams. Perform advanced troubleshooting involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.

Analyze equipment performance and identify trends to recommend corrective actions and product improvements. Manage warranty claims and maintain accurate warranty documentation. Assist in developing and delivering technical training for technicians, sales teams, distributors, and customers. Support product launches, sales meetings, trade shows, and customer training events as needed.

Partner with engineering, service, and product teams to continuously improve equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Two or more years of experience repairing, servicing, or troubleshooting commercial, industrial, or mechanical equipment. Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts manuals.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database applications. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as business needs require.
