Product Manager - OWNDAYS
Job description
Product Manager – OWNDAYS
Location: Tokyo, Japan
About OWNDAYS
OWNDAYS is a leading eyewear company founded in Tokyo in 1989, with 500+ stores across 13 countries and one of the most trusted and innovative eyewear brands in Asia. We strive to enrich our customers' daily lives through innovation, exceptional customer experiences, and technology that connects our stores, e-commerce platforms and operations seamlessly across every market. OWNDAYS now sits inside one of the world's largest vertically integrated eyewear platforms, giving this role direct access to the group's product, engineering scale, data and AI capability across India and international markets.
The Role
You will manage OWNDAYS' products and be responsible for keeping them aligned with the company's short-term tactical and long-term strategic goals. You will work with an experienced team of engineers, content writers, animators and designers to take the product through multiple successful releases.
Our Philosophy of Product Management
- Product strategy and vision are most effective when substantiated with real user interactions and data analytics.
- A list of 10 items for the next release, with a clear sense of priority, keeps a release effective and on time.
- Working closely with engineering, content and other PMs, you identify dependencies early for a smooth release.
- A PRD that speaks to the user's needs and wants is the best way to build internal buy-in and productivity.
- A simple annotated wireframe is better than a 5-page PRD – and a PRD longer than 5 pages will not be read.
- A feature, however great it sounds, is a true success only when it can be measured.
- Not every feature will be a runaway success; great PMs fine-tune iteratively.
- In spirit, you are the CEO of your product.
Who We're Looking For
- Passionate about building products in the internet and mobile space – through your last job, or outside work as a hobby or side project.
- Product management experience in complex systems and processes, in domains like supply chain management.
- Hands-on knowledge of building and scaling AI/ML-powered consumer products.
- Exceptionally motivated to make a measurable impact on the end user.
Competencies
- Entrepreneurial mindset: self-motivated, self-directed and innovative.
- People management: ability to lead, manage and develop large teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for results: high commitment with a bias for execution excellence.
- Customer focus: design processes and systems that create customer delight.
- Analytical ability: superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills.
