POSITION SUMMARY
The Campus Kids Director/Pastor leads Faith Kids ministry at the [Campus] campus, creating and cultivating relationships, environments, and systems that cause spiritual growth in the lives of children (birth through 5th grade). This role recruits and develops volunteer leaders, builds and mobilizes kids ministry teams, partners with parents, and ensures the children's ministry functions in an effective, focused, and unified way with both campus and central vision.
The Campus Kids Director/Pastor is served and led by the Campus Pastor and the Central Kids Pastor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities Attend weekly services Attend and participate in weekly campus meetings Invest in relationships with staff, team leaders, and unchurched people Participate in the giving of tithes and offerings to the campus Be organized and administrative Attend and participate in central ministry events and programs when available Participate in a small group Implement a "campus culture" strategy during services Be proactive and self-motivated Provide pastoral care responsibilities (e.
g., hospital visits, weddings, funerals) Be a team player with campus and central staff Cast vision for campus, central, and personal ministry Communicate effectively (verbal, written, and electronic) with children, parents, staff, volunteers, peers, and community Kids Ministry Responsibilities Recruit, train, implement, and lead a pipeline of leaders and volunteers in growth and service Build kids ministry teams for all areas Mobilize ministry teams for services and events as needed Oversee the leadership pipeline of weekend Faith Kids services (birth through 5th grade) Engage parents as vital partners Communicate well with parents and come alongside families, especially in times of crisis Relate to and understand the unique needs of children Plan and execute children's outreach events for the campus Ensure the children's ministry functions in an effective, focused, and unified way with campus and central vision Work with the Campus Pastor to achieve the collective goals of the ministry Follow through with the volunteer screening process to ensure a competent and qualified body of adult and youth volunteers (through the Faith Kids admin and continued updating of current volunteers) Complete weekly evaluations on Planning Center Submit an annual budget to the Campus Pastor and keep it balanced Assume the role as primary teacher and provide opportunities for others to grow into teaching areas Commit to live speaking and teaching on a regular basis Ensure competent adult and youth leadership is available to supervise and build relationships at all children's services and events Participate in all monthly central team leadership meetings Keep the Campus Pastor and central staff informed of emergent situations Attend Kids Camp yearly Attend Faith Kids department meetings, activities, and team-building times Fight to maintain Faith Kids department unity Host regular trainings for pipeline leaders Oversee pastoral care of teams and greater pastoral care areas as needs require Support the vision of the church from a central view all the way to a campus view Oversee the childcare needs for the campus Sunday Focus Deliver effective teaching Provide a great experience for kids Maintain high quality across the Sunday experience Create memorable moments for kids Weekly Focus Design the large-group experience Equip volunteers to serve Care for the team Develop the team Other Responsibilities Sunday morning platform participation General campus responsibilities shared by the team and other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Strong pastoral heart with a love for children, families, and the local church Proven ability to recruit, train, develop, and lead volunteer teams Effective communicator across verbal, written, and electronic channels with children, parents, staff, volunteers, and the broader community Strong organizational and administrative abilities, including budgeting and team scheduling Live teaching and large-group speaking ability Proactive and self-motivated; able to operate with autonomy at the campus level Team player with the ability to align campus and central vision Proficient with Planning Center for volunteer screening, scheduling, and evaluations REQUIREMENTS Must regularly attend Faith Church – [Campus] Must complete required background check and child safety training Must be available for Sunday services, weekly campus meetings, monthly central meetings, and annual Kids Camp Must maintain a lifestyle consistent with the values and biblical standards of Faith Church Must support the mission, vision, and values of Faith Church PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to interact with children at their physical level, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, and engaging in age-appropriate activities Ability to stand for extended periods during services, teaching, and ministry events Ability to move throughout the campus facility and travel to off-site events, Kids Camp, and central meetings Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally (children, ministry supplies, event materials, equipment) Ability to operate standard office equipment, presentation technology, and Planning Center software Capacity for sustained evening and weekend work, including services, events, training, and pastoral care
