Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics
Job description
The Department of Economics at Connecticut College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, starting July 1, 2027, in the field of Environmental Economics. The successful candidate will teach Environmental Economics, an elective course, Econometrics and, possibly, introductory economics courses.
An interdisciplinary perspective is welcome, since this appointment will be linked with the Environmental Studies program (with faculty from over 10 departments), with opportunities to contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary Centers and Pathways. Successful candidates must have experience teaching one independent class and have evidence of effective teaching and research potential.
Candidates completing their PhD in Economics by the start date are preferred. Tenure-track faculty members teach a 3-2 load (2-2 in the first year). In addition to providing ongoing strong support for teaching and research, the College offers pre-tenured faculty a supplementary research fund and a semester’s sabbatical at full salary after a successful third-year review.
