IT Operations Engineer

Our Client, a leading technology solutions provider in Malta, is seeking a motivated IT Operations Engineer to join its Operations team. The successful candidate will support the administration, security and ongoing management of clients’ IT environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, security and managed services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to develop within a dynamic, customer-focused technology environment. Both experienced candidates and fresh graduates will be considered, with additional relevant training provided.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage customers’ cloud, Microsoft 365 and security environments, ensuring reliable day-to-day operations. Monitor managed systems, respond to alerts and perform regular system reviews and preventive maintenance. Support customers across systems, networking, security and cloud technologies, providing effective technical assistance and guidance.

Maintain clear communication with customers regarding incidents, service progress, planned changes and technical recommendations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and technical documentation, working closely with other members of the Operations team. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability and security of customers’ IT environments.

Requirements

Good understanding of IT infrastructure and how technology is used to deliver effective managed IT services. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration portals, with good technical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Ideally 1–2 years of relevant IT experience, although motivated fresh graduates will also be considered.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both customers and colleagues. Strong customer-service mindset and the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships. Self-motivated, detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Licenses & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Microsoft or other relevant IT industry certifications are considered an advantage, particularly Azure Administration or Microsoft Security Administration certifications. Additional relevant technical training and certifications will be considered an asset.
