GL Analyst

Principal Accountabilities: Fixed Asset Accounting: Manage fixed asset ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal. Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of fixed asset transactions. Conduct regular reviews of asset records to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. HR Accounting: Oversee payroll accounting, including the recording of payroll expenses, benefits, and related liabilities.

Ensure accurate allocation of HR costs to relevant cost centers and departments. Assist with the reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolution of discrepancies. Intercompany Accounting: Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy of intercompany transactions. Manage intercompany settlements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

FX Revaluation & Reconciliation: Perform foreign currency and inventory system revaluation on a month-end basis, ensuring rates and postings are accurate and complete. Generate the NVO month-end sales revaluation report and book the related journal entries. Tie out bank-recorded cash and treasury transactions to the general ledger monthly, flagging and resolving discrepancies as an independent control over cash-related GL postings.

Tax Calculation Support: Calculate and record the month-end tax calculation for assigned entities, coordinating with the Accounting Lead on technical positions. Support the Accounting Lead and the statutory audit process with tax-related schedules and documentation as required. General Ledger Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Prepare and post journal entries for routine and non-routine transactions. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including accruals and adjustments. Close Process: Handling the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Performing balance sheet reconciliation for assigned accounts & resolve all the reviewing action points.

Identify and resolve issues affecting the closing process to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines. Audit Support: Assist in the preparation and coordination of financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Support various types of tax audits, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.

Work with internal and external auditors to address audit findings and implement corrective actions. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to general ledger activities. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of financial analysis & accounting solid experience, ideally spanning both general ledger work (fixed assets, payroll accounting, intercompany reconciliation) and FX/tax-adjacent work (FX revaluation, tax calculation, bank reconciliation)
• Practical Experience and understanding of USGAAP is preferred.
• Relevant experience in analyzing and reviewing financial statements & ledgers.
• Experience in the agribusiness or manufacturing sector is an advantage. Success Attributes
