• Spring, TX 77380 Civil Service: Yes Shift Hours: Monday – Friday, rotating Saturdays (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Education, Experience and Skill Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Must be able to operate motor vehicles Clean driving record Must be able to operate basic machinery Must be eligible to operate a county vehicle Must be physically able to work in outdoor conditions Physically able to lift items over 50 lbs. Must be available to work weekends on rotation Must be able to work in person, not remote Primary Job Duties: Assist residents with recycling Unload materials from cars, trucks and trailers Sort both recyclable and non-recyclable materials Operate machinery such as bailers, industrial trash compactors, tractors and forklifts Answer questions and provide information about recycling Money transactions, including responsibility for a cash drawer Perform Occasional basic office duties; such as, record keeping and answering phone. Any and all duties, as assigned. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
